This year – as in many other years – Ketchum is proud to sponsor the 2019 ColorComm Conference. “#C2Miami” is poised to once again bring together an intimate group of over 500 multicultural, professional women in communications to address the most relevant issues impacting our culture and society. Over the course of three days, July 24–26, this year’s delegation will hear and learn from esteemed speakers and panelists, network with peers and celebrate those who have made strides in championing diversity and inclusion in our industry. My colleagues and I are all very excited about the conference, and what we hope to gain from the experience.
Personally, I’m excited to learn from and with other women of color in the industry; to hear about how other companies are working to build inclusive workplaces and note some best practices; to allow myself to be challenged and expanded by rich discussions; and to marvel in the sisterhood it will bring me.
Here’s what the rest of our delegation had to say…
Gina Seaman, VP, Human Resources Partner:
I’m looking forward to reconnecting with old acquaintances, making new connections and bringing back best practices and ideas to help drive Ketchum’s diversity strategy forward.
Michele Lanza, Partner, Global Acquisition and Retention Strategies:
My goal for my time at ColorComm is to meet lots of new people, some of which I’m hoping might become future Ketchum employees.
Jenn Bins, Vice President, Marketplace Leader, Atlanta:
We will be surrounded by a lot of amazing women of color in the communications field and I look forward to being surrounded by that energy. My goal is to connect with one or two women who could potentially be a new “fairy godmother” to me, as I enter this new chapter in my career journey.
Dr. Quinetta Roberson, Fred J. Springer Endowed Chair in Business Leadership in the School of Business at Villanova University and Ketchum DE&I Advisory Board Member:
While I’m not in the communications industry, I am excited to learn about the current challenges and successes of women of color in the industry and their personal strategies that can help me help organizations build more inclusive environments and coach individuals to more effectively manage their careers.
